The 2008 Legette Family Reunion was a great success. This year's reunion was held in the sunshine state of Florida for the very first time. The events days were Thursday, July 10th thru Sunday, July 13th at the beautiful Holiday Inn Main Gate East Hotel.
Thursday, July 10th We kicked off the reunion on Thursday, July 10th with a meet and greet/welcome reception at the host hotel. Debbie Riveria from the Kissimmee Convention and Visitors Bureau came out to give us an official greeting to city of Kissimmeee. We feasted on pizza & desserts and got reacquainted with each other. Friday, July 11th This day was a free day for all to explore the Kissimmee/Orlando area. Family members visited Disney Theme Parks, Universal Studios, Old Town or went shopping at the area shopping centers. Saturday, July 12th This day was designated as our family bbq at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake. With a few rain showers falling down around us, we didn't let it dampen our excitement. We enjoyed playing games such as three-leged race, sack race, frisbee and of course spades! After our day at the park we decided to go bowling at AMF Sky Lanes in Kissimmee. What should have been a twenty minute ride turned out to be sixty minutes with the crazy directions we had. But once we arrived at the bowling alley we had a great time! Sunday, July 13th We closed out our 2008 reunion with a farewell breakfast at the hotel. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet while taking last minute photos and exchanging well wishes on our travels. We also exchanged contact numbers so that we can keep in touch with one another. __________________________________________ |
We had over 80 family and friends who attended the reunion. Some came for one or two days while others stayed during the entire reunion.
